Shane McArnold is a minor character in the second season of Sports Night. He is played by guest star Richard Steinmetz and only appears in "Shane". He is a professional baseball player.



He is an old friend of Sports Night anchor Casey McCall.

Season 2Edit

He is interviewed by Casey for Sports Night after signing to play for the New York Yankees, after being traded from the Kansas City Royals. He insults the city with an offhand comment. Casey assures him that he will edit out the remark but his executive producer refuses to allow him to do so and the interview airs intact, causing a minor rebellion.[1]
